A Brief History of Maxon Furniture

Maxon Furniture Inc. started in 1976 as Panel Concepts Inc. making office cubicle panels. In our efforts to marry form and function, we've always been innovators. We developed the patented Camlock Connection System to improve panel connections, and the Data Center Tile for embedding flat-panel screens directly into cubicle panels. As the BPI brand, we started producing the durable Versé privacy panels, and later our popular Parallel® line, a very affordable cubicle option.

In 1986, Maxon Furniture became an operating company of The HNI Corporation, the second-largest office furniture maker in the world.

Our multiple brands were unified under the Maxon name in 2002. Our manufacturing was consolidated to our Salisbury, NC plant in 2005. And our corporate headquarters moved from Kent to Renton, WA in 2006.
